Rikki Streicher (1926-1994) was al esbian American political activist and founder of the Gay Games Federation. Lesbian American political activist, early leader of the Society for Individual Rights (SIR), and founder of the Gay Games Federation. Her two San Francisco bars, Maud’s and Amelia’s, became legendary gathering places for the growing Lesbian community, providing a protective safe space and clearinghouse for information. Rikki Streicher Field in Collingwood Park in the Castro is named in her honor.
