Sophie Xeon, known professionally as SOPHIE, was a Scottish musician, record producer, singer, songwriter, and DJ. She was known for her innovative electronic music that blended experimental sounds with pop sensibilities, creating a unique sonic landscape that influenced a generation of artists.

SOPHIE came out as a transgender woman in 2017 with the release of her single ‘It’s Okay to Cry’ and its music video, which featured her for the first time. Her work explored themes of identity, transformation, and self-expression, and she became an icon for transgender and LGBTQ youth. She was nominated for a Grammy Award for her album ‘Oil of Every Pearl’s Un-Insides.’ She died in a tragic accident in 2021, but her music and her impact on pop culture and transgender visibility continue to resonate.
